Milling with Mollen

Mesquite is more than a desert tree—it’s a regenerative food source and symbol of community connection. Through Milling with Mollen, our seasonal program made possible by Urban Farm and Bee Oasis, we invite you to rediscover this powerful desert resource.

Each year, we offer:

  • Online classes to prep for harvest

  • In-person walkabouts with local guides

  • Community milling events using our food-grade hammer mill

Whether you’re just starting or a seasoned harvester, join us to learn, share, and mill. Our 2025 milling was a big success! Stay tuned for 2026. Volunteer, register to mill, or donate below to keep the movement growing.

Action Steps

Each year, you can collect your pods and ready them for milling by following these simple steps—resources are all on this page:

  1. Register for a Mesquite Basics live online class.

  2. Join a local harvesting event to learn from seasoned foragers, collect your pods, and get more later on your own.

  3. Book a time to bring your pods for inspection and milling in late June.

  4. Explore our video library HERE for mesquite harvesting tips and more.
